Global Warming, No Problem

Yes, I believe that humans are contributing to this global warming thing, but for Fairbanks I do not see this as a bad thing.

I was born and raised here in Fairbanks, and in my 21 years here, I have been cold. In the past three years, I have been actually been able to bear the conditions. I now have a choice if I want to live here or not. I choose to live here for cheap tuition, but the cold has always been an issue. Now I believe I can stay here longer to work and live. For so many, weather is the factor in choosing a home. If weather trends stay like they have been we might even see an increase in population.

Another great thing about the warmer weather, we can recreate outside, and truly enjoy it. There are some that enjoy throwing the warm water in the air and watch it turn into vapor at -40 below that is a lovely thing. Once you see it the thrill is over.

I am ready for this town to get warmer. I have to admit I have been snowboarding at -20 below just because I was getting a free lift ticket. I don’t recommend it. I do wonder about the polar bears up in the Arctic. I have full faith in all the great researchers here at UAF to figure that out.

All I am saying is that not everybody is opposed to global warming. If I don’t see -40 below in ten years, then I might start to believe.
